Mark Banks gives medical attention to an injured Indonesian man medevaced from a coastal village on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, on Jan. 3, 2005 as part of Operation Unified Assistance. Medical teams from the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and the International Organization for Migration have setup a triage site located on Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Force Base in Banda Aceh, Sumatra. The two teams are working together with members of the Australian Air Force to provide initial medical care to victims of the tsunami-stricken coastal regions. The Lincoln Strike Group is conducting humanitarian operations in the wake of the Dec. 26th tsunamis that struck Southeast Asia while operating in the Indian Ocean off the coasts of Indonesia and Thailand.
