The airport is now one of the main staging areas for hurricane-relief efforts in Mississippi. The sailors are from the USS Bataan (LHD 5) that is operating in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 100 miles south of New Orleans, La., while the Guard members are from the Biloxi area.
