Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Shantell Robinson monitors arresting gear pressure gauges aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) during flight operations in the Pacific on Oct. 26, 2005. Kitty Hawk's arresting gears control the recovery of aircraft landing on the flight deck, bringing them to a halt within 120 feet.
