U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Caleb Hurley drills a hole through the ice above the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska, during the first phase of building an ice bridge on Nov. 24, 2008. The ice bridge will be five feet deep, 32 miles long and capable of supporting more than 110 tons. Airmen with the 354th Civil Engineer Squadron are constructing the bridge to access and perform annual maintenance at the Blair Lakes Bombing Range.
