Funeral Honors

The U.S. flag drapes the casket of retired Navy Vice Adm. James B. Stockdale as it is carried from the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel by the ceremonial guard. Friends, family members and shipmates gathered to attend the funeral service for the former naval aviator, Vietnam prisoner of war, test pilot, academic and Medal of Honor recipient who died July 5, 2005, at the age of 81. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1947.
