Submarine floats on surface.

USS Lagarto

The submarine USS Lagarto is underway in Lake Michigan during sea trials sometime in late 1944. A Japanese minelayer sank the Lagarto in the Gulf of Thailand, May 4, 1945. All 88 of her crew perished. British divers discovered the wreck in 2005.
