Hurricane Hunter

Air Force Senior Airman Nathan Calloway, a loadmaster assigned to the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, checks the data collected during a storm mission into Hurricane Florence, Sept. 11, 2018. The squadron, known as the “Hurricane Hunters,” use GPS, radar and other tools to track and find the center of a storm. The weather data they collect is sent to the National Hurricane Center to assist in providing up-to-date and accurate information for storm missions.
