Missile Interception An infrared image captures a successful intercept of a threat-representative intercontinental ballistic missile target by two long-range ground-based interceptors launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., March 25, 2019. The target was launched from the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site as part of the first salvo engagement test with ground-based interceptors.
