Patient Transfer Airmen transfer a COVID-19 patient at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, July 1, 2020, following the first operational mission of the Negatively Pressurized Conex, an isolated containment chamber developed to transport individuals with infectious diseases. Personnel used the chamber aboard a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to transport 12 patients from the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility to Germany to receive care at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
