Tele-Critical Care

Trisha Lindsey, a nurse specialist assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego's Joint Tele-Critical Care Network, provides support to a remote intensive care unit via teleconference in the hospital's JTCCN office Sept. 17, 2020. The JTCCN provides critical care support to remote, bedside intensivist teams, known as spoke sites, via state-of-the-art audiovisual communication and computer systems. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way many facets of health care are conducted, and NMCSD has adapted some of its techniques and practices to keep both staff and patients safe while delivering the high-quality health care they’ve come to expect.
