Army Staff Sgt. Robert J. Miller Army Staff Sgt. Robert J. Miller was killed on Jan. 25, 2008, after volunteering to serve as point man for a night security patrol in Afghanistan. His bravery allowed seven of his Special Forces teammates and 15 Afghan soldiers to escape the ambush that killed him. For his actions, he earned the Medal of Honor.
