Hat Wave

Air Force Maj. Gen. Sherrie McCandless, commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard, joins members of the D.C. Army and Air National Guard in raising their hats during the Washington Nationals’ Salute to Service at Nationals Park in Washington, Aug. 13, 2021. The Nationals dedicate a special game each season to honor and celebrate each branch of the military. McCandless, who is also a veteran fighter pilot, was selected to represent service members during National Guard Day at the stadium.
