Serpens Ceremony

Coast Guardsmen, along with family and friends of the victims of the USS Serpens, attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the USS Serpens Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., Jan. 27, 2023. The USS Serpens exploded while unloading cargo 78 years ago, killing 250 service members. It’s the largest single disaster in Coast Guard history.
