Marines are in Finland to participate in Freezing Winds 23, an annual Finnish-led maritime exercise which includes Marines and sailors from Marine Rotational Force – Europe, and U.S. Navy Forces Europe. The exercise serves to increase Finnish navy readiness and European partners’ interoperability in operational logistics, integrated fires, and amphibious operations in and around Baltic Sea.
