Camp Spectacle

The northern lights appear over Ice Camp Whale during Operation Ice Camp 2024 in the Beaufort Sea, March 7, 2024. The three-week event focuses on researching, testing and evaluating operational capabilities in the Arctic region. Previously called Ice Exercise, its elevation to an operation in 2024 reflects the Navy’s prioritization of the region.
