Golden Gateway

The amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset steams off the coast of San Francisco during the city’s Fleet Week, Oct. 8, 2024. Fleet Week is a time-honored sea service celebration that allows citizens to witness today’s maritime capabilities firsthand. Nearly 2,500 sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen will showcase their capabilities and equipment, participate in community activities and enjoy the hospitality of the Bay Area during the event.
