Wreath-Laying Ceremony Army Maj. Gen. John Gronski places a wreath at the grave of Army Sgt. James Mestrovitch, a Medal of Honor recipient, Nov. 1, 2018, at St. John Serbian Orthodox Church in Durasevici, Montenegro. Mestrovitch was born in a part of Yugoslavia that is now known as Montenegro, before immigrating to the U.S. before World War I. He served with distinction in the 28th Infantry Division, which Gronski formerly commanded. Mestrovitch was killed one week before the Nov. 11, 1918, armistice that ended World War I.
