High Altitude Defense

The deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System to Israel is part of an exercise involving U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and Israeli forces, under the Dynamic Force Employment concept. The exercise builds readiness and strengthens Israeli-U.S. partnership in the region. It also demonstrates the U.S. capability to rapidly deploy air defense assets globally. During the deployment, U.S. service members will work in various locations throughout Israel and will practice operational procedures for augmenting Israel's existing air and missile defense architecture. They will refine network connectivity, validate requirements for the THAAD system, and will conduct multinational training and security cooperation activities with allies. Video by Michael McCool
