Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks departs on a multi-state trip Wednesday, July 7, to visit military installations across New England highlighting the Department of Defense’s efforts to drive innovation, energy resilience, and build and develop the right capabilities to maintain our competitive military advantage at sea.
As part of the trip, Deputy Secretary Hicks will meet with industry and congressional leaders in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Dr. Hicks will also participate in discussions at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the importance of academic partnerships to the Department's modernization priorities, including rapid experimentation and the adoption of artificial intelligence.
