Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks departs on domestic travel Monday, December 13, to visit Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan; U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Space Command, and the U.S. Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) in Colorado; U.S. Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii; Naval Amphibious Base Coronado in California; and U.S. Strategic Command in Nebraska.
Deputy Secretary Hicks will meet with lawmakers, military leaders and service members to see first-hand the Department’s efforts to rapidly advance warfighting concepts and capabilities to meet advanced threats, and hear about challenges and successes within each command.
Dr. Hicks will also meet with leaders and service members across the commands she is visiting to gain insight into family readiness challenges, career development, and other issues which affect the workforce.
