Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen H. Hicks departs on domestic travel Monday, April 4, to highlight the Department’s focus on building enduring advantages, in line with our National Defense Strategy.
In both Silicon Valley and Los Angeles, Deputy Secretary Hicks will engage with service members, university students and faculty, leading researchers, entrepreneurs, and defense industry representatives.
The Deputy Secretary will observe ways we invest in and partner with the vibrant U.S. innovation ecosystem, which enables Department modernization, workforce innovation, research infrastructure, and cooperation with small businesses and the defense industrial base – necessary to meet the nation’s security challenges and build enduring advantages.
