Military Commissions Media Invitation Announced for United States v. Encep Nurjaman et al. Pre-Trial Hearing

The Department of Defense invites media to cover pre-trial proceedings Oct. 31-Nov. 4 for Encep Nurjaman, Mohammed Nazir Bin Lep, and Mohammed Farik Bin Amin, all of whom have been charged jointly in connection with their alleged roles in the 2002 and 2003 bombings in Indonesia. 

The proceedings will take place at the Expeditionary Legal Complex located in Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NSGB) Cuba and transmitted to select closed circuit television sites. 

Media may choose to travel to NSGB if agreeable to the coverage window outlined below and willing to pay the flight fee associated ($800); the coverage window is determined by flights, which are Saturday to Saturday. Specific ground rules will be provided following registration. Media members should note that there may be restrictions in what can be covered during their time on NSGB.

  • Oct. 29-Nov. 5

Deadline: All requests must be received no later than 5 p.m. EDT, Friday, Aug. 26. 
Additional details of travel logistics and COVID procedures will be provided separately. By submitting the online request form, interested media will begin the travel process and respective OMC PAOs will be in touch to assist in travel preparations.
