Secretary of Defense Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Milley Press Conference Tomorrow, Sept. 8

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark A. Milley will hold an on-camera press conference on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 9:45 a.m. EDT at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany, following the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, the fifth such meeting of defense leaders from around the world since Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine.

The press briefing will be livestreamed on defense.gov. and broadcast on Channel 2 in the Pentagon.

The Secretary of Defense will be providing opening remarks for the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at 4 a.m. EDT; his remarks will be livestreamed on defense.gov and broadcast on Channel 2 in the Pentagon, and rebroadcast at 8 a.m. EDT.
