The Department of Defense invites media to observe arguments in a matter that will go before the U.S. Court of Military Commission Review on Monday, July 24.
The defense motion before the three-judge panel relates to the case of United States v. Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the defendant charged in the attack on the USS Cole (DDG 67).
The defense contends that the presiding judge in the case, U.S. Army Col. Lanny J. Acosta Jr., should be disqualified retroactively to when he applied for a post-retirement job as the Clerk of Court for the U.S. Air Force Trial Judiciary.
The oral arguments will take place at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, 717 Madison Place, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20439, Courtroom 402, at 2 p.m. Media members should plan to arrive at 1 p.m.
