Defense Secretary Ash Carter Ceremonial Swearing-in at the Pentagon

March 6, 2015
Today at 3:00 p.m. in the Pentagon Auditorium, the Pentagon will host a ceremonial swearing in and reception for Secretary Carter. Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Elena Kagan will administer the oath of office and afterwards Secretary Carter will deliver remarks. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey and the 19th Secretary of Defense Dr. William Perry will also make remarks.
 
Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes before the event; have proof of affiliation and photo identification. Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.
