Secretary of Defense Carter to Release Annual Report on Sexual Assault in the Military and Announce Directives to Strengthen Response

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter will release the Department of Defense's Annual Report on Sexual Assault in the Military and announce directives to further strengthen the department's prevention and response program tomorrow at 1 p.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973). Following introductory remarks, Sexual Assault Prevention Office Senior Executive Advisor Dr. Nathan Galbreath will discuss the report and respond to questions.

The report will be available at 1 p.m. on www.sapr.mil.

Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.
