Guard Firefighters Train for Urban Search, Rescue Missions

Air and Army National Guard firefighters from across the country came to train at Wisconsin's Regional Emergency All-Climate Training Center -- known as the REACT Center -- during the Patriot North 17 exercise. The REACT Center specializes in providing the training required for a safe and successful response to natural and manmade disasters for both military and civilian responders.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Colton Elliott has faced much adversity throughout his life and now he’s found a home with the Air National Guard. Elliott is a photojournalist with the Missouri Air National Guard’s 131st Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. He has served for almost seven years and said he definitely plans to stay for a full career.
