Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel discussed a range of regional security issues today with Israeli Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Benjamin Gantz, according to a statement provided by Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Adm. John Kirby.
Kirby’s statement reads as follows:
Secretary Hagel met with the Israeli Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Benjamin Gantz, at the Pentagon today.
Secretary Hagel thanked Lt. Gen. Gantz for his leadership and his professional and personal commitment to the Israeli Defense Forces over the last four years and wished him well in his future endeavors.
They also reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Israel relationship and discussed a range of regional security issues.
