Coastal Cleanup Crew Restores Beauty to Remote Beaches

Nearly 50 volunteer sailors and civilians participated in the annual coastal cleanup on the remote beaches of San Nicolas Island, the most isolated of California's Channel Islands.

The group removed more than 2,000 pounds of trash and debris from three beaches. 

The volunteers were assigned to Naval Base Ventura County and Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division.
