Forget the Big Apple. For Marines, "if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere" might be more applicable to the remote, rugged Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, high in the Sierra Nevada. Marines assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment put the saying to the test recently by braving cold temperatures, knee-deep snow and ice baths at the site.
It was all part of Mountain Warfare Training Exercise 2-23, which prepared Marines to survive and conduct extended operations in mountainous terrain during the winter.
Check out the Marines as they mastered cold-weather tactical skills.
