Flag Officer Assignments

The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John M. Richardson announced today the following assignments:

Rear Adm. (upper half) Michael C. Manazir will be assigned as deputy chief of naval operations for warfare systems, N9, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia.  Manazir is currently serving as director, Air Warfare Division, N98, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia.  

Rear Adm. (upper half) DeWolfe H. Miller will be assigned as director, Air Warfare Division, N98, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia.  Miller is currently serving as deputy director, Chief of Naval Operations for Warfare Systems, N9B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia.  

Rear Adm. (lower half) Brian K. Antonio, selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as program executive officer for Aircraft Carriers, Washington, District of Columbia.  Antonio is currently serving as program executive officer for Littoral Combat Ships, Washington, District of Columbia.  

Rear Adm. (lower half) Thomas W. Luscher, selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia.  Luscher is currently serving as deputy chief of Navy Reserve, N095, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia.  

Rear Adm. (lower half) John B. Nowell Jr., selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as director, Military Personnel Plans and Policy Division, N13, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia.  Nowell is currently serving as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Seven; and commander, Amphibious Force, U.S. Seventh Fleet, Yokosuka, Japan.  

Rear Adm. (lower half) Jeffrey S. Ruth will be assigned as commandant, Joint Forces Staff College, National Defense University, Norfolk, Virginia.  Ruth is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Northwest, Silverdale, Washington.
