All four active services met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal year 2015 through November 2014, Defense Department officials announced today.
Here are the active-component recruiting numbers for fiscal year 2015 through November 2014:
-- Army: 10,036 accessions, 101.6 percent of its goal of 9,880;
-- Navy: 5,079 accessions, 100 percent of its goal of 5,079;
-- Marine Corps: 4,126 accessions, 100.1 percent of its goal of 4,123; and
-- Air Force: 3,177 accessions, 100 percent of its goal of 3,177.
The Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps exhibited strong retention numbers for November 2014.
Five of the six reserve components met or exceeded their fiscal-year-to-date 2015 numerical accession goals through November 2014. Five of the six reserve components also met or exceeded the DoD quality benchmarks.
Here are the reserve-component accession numbers for fiscal year 2015 through November 2014:
-- Army National Guard: 7,305 accessions, 89.9 percent of its goal of 8,128;
-- Army Reserve: 5,024 accessions, 107.6 percent of its goal of 4,667;
-- Navy Reserve: 994 accessions, 100 percent of its goal of 994;
-- Marine Corps Reserve: 1,341 accessions, 106.9 percent of its goal of 1,254;
-- Air National Guard: 1,346 accessions, 100 percent of its goal of 1,346; and
-- Air Force Reserve: 1,179 accessions, 100 percent of its goal of 1,179.
Each of the six reserve components met their attrition goals or were within the allowed variance. Current trends are expected to continue. This indicator lags due to data availability.
