Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel spoke to Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Abdallah bin Nasir Al Thani today to discuss mutual regional and security issues, Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said.
In a statement summarizing the meeting, Kirby said Hagel thanked the prime minister for his efforts to advance the strategic partnership the United States and Qatar enjoy.
“Prime Minister Al Thani reaffirmed the strong relationship, noting that the two countries share many common interests,” he added.Â
