Services Continue Strong Recruiting Through February 2015

All four active services met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal year 2015 through February, Defense Department officials announced today.

Here are the active-component recruiting numbers for fiscal year 2015 through February 2015:

-- Army: 22,035 accessions, 101.5 percent of its goal of 21,720;

-- Navy: 13,311 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 13,311;

-- Marine Corps: 10,072 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 10,067; and

-- Air Force: 9,062 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 9,062.

The Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps exhibited strong retention numbers for February 2015.

Five of the six reserve components met or exceeded their fiscal-year-to-date 2015 numerical accession goals through February 2015. All six reserve components also met or exceeded the DoD quality benchmarks.

Here are the reserve-component accession numbers for fiscal year 2015 through February 2015:

-- Army National Guard: 17,734 accessions, 87.8 percent of its goal of 20,197;

-- Army Reserve: 11,857 accessions, 108.5 percent of its goal of 10,932;

-- Navy Reserve: 2,217 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 2,217;

-- Marine Corps Reserve: 3,183 accessions, 103.3 percent of its goal of 3,080;

-- Air National Guard: 3,811 accessions, 100.00 percent of its goal of 3,811; and

-- Air Force Reserve: 2,834 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 2,834.

All of the six reserve components met their attrition goals or were within the allowed variance. Current trends are expected to continue. This indicator lags due to data availability.
