Deputy Defense Secretary Bob Work met with Defense Minister Karidjo Mahamadou of Niger at the Pentagon today.
Navy Lt. Cmdr. Courtney Hillson, a spokeswoman for Work, said in a statement that the two defense leaders discussed wide-ranging areas of U.S.-Niger collaboration and security cooperation.
“The deputy secretary and minister exchanged thoughts on Boko Haram and the broader security environment in northwest Africa,” Hillson said, adding that they also spoke about their shared priorities for partnership and avenues to expand defense cooperation.
