General Officer Announcement

July 24, 2019

Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

Air Force Maj. Gen. James B. Hecker for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general, and assignment as commander and president, Air University, Air Education and Training Command, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.  Hecker is currently serving as vice director, Operations, J-3, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.
