Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper met with Croatian Minister of Defense Damir Krsticevic today at the NATO Defense Ministerial in Brussels, Belgium, to reaffirm the defense relationship between the United States and Croatia.
The leaders discussed a broad range of defense issues, including the potential for future defense acquisitions, equitable burden-sharing, requirements for the fight against ISIS, and current operations in Afghanistan.
The Secretary and Minister also discussed the importance of stability in the Western Balkans and how to deepen military competencies in emerging fields.
Secretary Esper and Minister Krsticevic agreed to continue the strong bilateral defense relationship between the U.S. and Croatia, and to ensure close coordination and consultation.
