Pentagon Chief Press Secretary Alyssa Farah provided the following readout:
Performing the Duties of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Dr. James Anderson met with Algerian Armed Forces Director of the Employment and Preparation Department Maj. Gen. Mohammed Bachar to renew and reinvigorate cooperation on shared defense interests during the 9th U.S.- Algeria Joint Military Dialogue, Nov. 18 - 21.
Anderson expressed the Department of Defense’s continued commitment to partnering with the Government of Algeria to address significant terrorist threats in North Africa.
The two leaders also discussed regional security, including instability in Libya, as well as security cooperation, including training and defense trade.
Anderson thanked Bachar for his commitment to partnership and his efforts to drive progress toward shared objectives.
