DOD Announces Defense Production Act Title 3 COVID-19 PPE Project: $2.2 Million Investment Will Increase U.S. Domestic Production of N95 Mask Respirator and Mask Ventilator Filter Production by Over 30 Million Combined Over the Next 120 Days

The Department of Defense, in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has signed a $2.2 million contract with Hollingsworth & Vose to increase U.S. domestic production of 27.5 million N95 ventilator filters, and 3.1 million N95 respirators per month, starting in August.

Approved by the White House Task Force, facilitated by the DoD Joint Acquisition Task Force, and using funds authorized and appropriated under the CARES Act, this investment will relieve manufacturing bottlenecks and will expand N95 mask production and ventilator use.

Hollingsworth & Vose is a family-owned company based in East Walpole, Massachusetts. The principal place of performance is Floyd, Virginia.

The Department remains closely partnered with FEMA and HHS, providing almost $2.5 billion in lifesaving supplies and equipment to service members and federal agencies in the nation’s whole-of-government approach to the coronavirus pandemic.
