Readout of Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III’s Meeting With France Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly

Pentagon Press Secretary John F. Kirby provided the following readout:

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met with France’s Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly on October 21, 2021 to discuss the U.S.-France bilateral relationship, collaboration on counterterrorism in the Sahel, and continuing our cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. Secretary Austin and Minister Parly also explored opportunities for increased cooperation in the cyber and space domains. The two agreed to keep up their regular engagement.

Austin Defense Secretary partnerships
