Readout of Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III's Meeting With Kenya Cabinet Secretary of Defense Eugene Wamalwa

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met on November 20 with Kenya Cabinet Secretary of Defense Eugene Wamalwa in Manama, Bahrain, during the annual Manama Dialogue. 

Secretary Austin confirmed the strength and importance of the U.S.-Kenya relationship, and thanked the Cabinet Secretary for Kenya’s critical support and partnership in the African Union Mission in Somalia, the ongoing conflict in Ethiopia, deepening the U.S.-Kenya defense partnership, and expanding counterterrorism cooperation.
