Readout of Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III's Meeting With Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba of the United Arab Emirates

Pentagon Press Secretary John F. Kirby provided the following readout:
 
Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met today with the UAE Ambassador to the United States Yousef Al Otaiba to discuss the recent Houthi attacks against the UAE that caused civilian casualties and also threatened U.S. and Emirati armed forces stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base.  Secretary Austin and Ambassador Al Otaiba strongly condemned the January 17 and January 24 attacks against the UAE.  The Secretary underscored his commitment to helping the UAE defend its territory and people and to the broader U.S.-UAE security partnership.
