Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin H. Kahl met today with Lithuanian Vice Minister of National Defence Margiris Abukevicius to reaffirm the strength and importance of the bilateral relationship between the United States and Lithuania. They discussed a number of issues, including Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, as well as China, bilateral defense cooperation, and preparation for the NATO Summit in Madrid. The leaders praised the resistance and resolve of the Ukrainian people and Armed Forces, and agreed on the need to continue supplying Ukraine with security assistance so it can continue to defend itself from aggression.
