Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby provided the following readout:
Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met UK Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace today at the Pentagon to reaffirm the U.S.-UK defense relationship.
The leaders discussed the importance of transatlantic cooperation and regional security in light of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal attack on Ukraine. They also discussed ongoing efforts to support Ukraine, including through the provision of security assistance.
The leaders look forward to meeting again next month for the NATO Defense Ministerial and continuing to deepen the U.S.-UK special relationship.
