Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with France's Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu today over the phone.

Secretary Austin congratulated Minister Lecornu on his new position and welcomed the work they will do together.

The leaders discussed the urgency of support for Ukraine, the upcoming NATO Defense Ministerial and Summit, and the importance of the Indo-Pacific region.
