On behalf of the Department of Defense, I would like to thank lawmakers for bipartisan support, resulting in the passage of the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) legislation in the Senate.
The CHIPS Act is critical to our national security. It will help secure our semiconductor supply chain, which is ground zero to effectively competing for groundbreaking technologies with China.
Ensuring the military’s access to secure microelectronics, and having the most advanced capabilities that the commercial sector can offer, is vital to national defense. We urge House lawmakers to move quickly to vote on the bill.
