Secretary Austin Travels to U.S. Africa Command Headquarters and Latvia

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III will depart August 8 to participate in the change of command ceremony for U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Michael E. Langley and U.S. Army Gen. Stephen J. Townsend at Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany.

The Secretary will then travel to Latvia to meet with senior government officials to affirm U.S. commitment and persistent presence in Latvia and the broader Baltic region.
