Readout of Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III Meeting With Republic of the Marshall Islands President Kabua

Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder provided the following readout:

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met with the President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands President David Kabua to reaffirm the Department of Defense’s unwavering commitment to the defense of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and to discuss the importance of the U.S.-RMI strategic and security relationship.

Secretary Austin thanked President Kabua and his government for hosting U.S. forces.  Secretary Austin and President Kabua confirmed the importance of our two countries’ shared values, principles, and vision of upholding a free and open Indo-Pacific.
