Readout of Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III's Call With Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke by phone on January 28 with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant to offer his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack that took place on January 27 at a synagogue in Jerusalem, claiming the lives of at least seven innocent civilians. Secretary Austin reaffirmed his commitment to Israel’s right to defend itself against acts of terrorism. The two leaders pledged to remain in contact in the coming days.
