Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder provided the following readout:
Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III hosted Minister of Defense Juansher Burchuladze of Georgia at the Pentagon today to reaffirm the U.S.-Georgia defense relationship. Secretary Austin reiterated U.S. support for Georgian sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as U.S. commitment to help Georgia strengthen its deterrence and defensive capabilities.
The two leaders also discussed Russia's war on Ukraine, Georgia's ongoing defense reforms, and security challenges facing Georgia and the South Caucasus.
